Knowledge Engineering System

A standalone, repository-independent capability that transforms information from authoritative and explicitly trusted sources into structured, validated, traceable, and reusable organizational knowledge.

KES discovers, acquires, validates, structures, relates, and publishes knowledge while preserving source ownership, provenance, review status, uncertainty, and customer authority.

Governing Question
How does this become trusted organizational knowledge?

Every KES service, workflow, interface, and knowledge product is organized around this question. KES engineers knowledge; it does not engineer decisions.

Operational Problem

Critical knowledge often exists, but remains fragmented and delayed.

Organizations frequently possess valuable operational, technical, and institutional knowledge distributed across people, systems, documents, contractors, agencies, and operational units.

The resulting delay between observation and trusted availability is operational knowledge latency.

Engineering and technical records
Maintenance and readiness data
Government and contractor systems

Knowledge Engineering Lifecycle

A controlled path from source information to trusted knowledge.

01

Discover

Identify approved knowledge sources, owners, structures, access methods, and applicable handling requirements.

02

Acquire and Register

Receive source information and record its identity, ownership, time, context, authority, and provenance.

03

Validate

Confirm source authorization, completeness, integrity, relevance, and required review status.

04

Structure and Relate

Normalize information and establish traceable relationships without changing the meaning of the source material.

05

Review and Approve

Support customer-defined human review, correction, approval, rejection, and retirement workflows.

06

Publish

Deliver approved knowledge to customer-selected repositories, command systems, mission applications, or other authorized consumers.

Product Principles

Knowledge remains attributable, governed, and customer-owned.

Repository Independent

KES is not the customer’s knowledge repository. It publishes engineered knowledge to repositories and consuming systems selected by the customer.

No Knowledge Invention

KES does not fabricate facts, fill information gaps with assumptions, or publish unsupported inference as authoritative knowledge.

Provenance Preserved

Every knowledge artifact retains traceability to its source, transformations, reviews, approvals, versions, and publication destination.

Human Ownership

The customer remains the authoritative owner of its knowledge and controls validation, correction, approval, rejection, and retirement.

Inputs

Trusted Sources

KES receives information through approved interfaces and workflows while preserving source authority, ownership, classification, handling restrictions, and provenance.

Outputs

Authorized Consumers

Approved knowledge can be published to customer repositories, command-and-control systems, mission applications, knowledge graphs, databases, or the RebelWave Ecosystem.

KES may maintain processing state, mappings, workflow state, and audit evidence, but it does not become the customer’s authoritative repository.

Operational Outcomes

Move knowledge faster without sacrificing authority or traceability.

Reduced operational knowledge latency
Faster movement of observations into authorized systems
Preserved source provenance
Improved visibility into conflicting information
Reduced dependency on manual information handoffs
Repository and vendor independence
Improved knowledge reuse across missions
Continued customer ownership of knowledge
Product Boundary

KES engineers knowledge. It does not engineer decisions.

Does not generate Courses of Action
Does not authorize missions
Does not direct execution
Does not invent missing knowledge
Does not silently resolve source conflicts
Does not replace customer repositories
Knowledge Engineering

Convert distributed information into trusted organizational knowledge.

RebelWave works with government, defense, aerospace, and public-sector organizations to define source governance, validation workflows, provenance requirements, and repository integrations.
